Retail.....

Ughh sorry its been a while since my last post but I have been super busy! I am home from college for break and am working in retail!!! I sell shoes at a local shoe store, family owned business.

RETAIL + CHRISTMAS = HELL

People come into the store expecting we have EVERYTHING but in fact all the popular things are limited because of the season helloooo don't you think people would learn that? NOPE, its two days until Christmas and people are still coming in. I don't blame them, I too am doing last minute shopping BUT I am NOT a mean person when shopping!

I have worked the past three days in a row and people are getting more and more upset over little things or things that they should know.

Here are a couple examples:

Scene One: Customer came in with her son to get snow boots, its December 22nd!!! We have had 3 snowstorms so far and EVERYONE has gotten all the good snow boots. Her son has the BIGGEST feet, size 14!!! I show her what we have and she says to give her SPACE to try them on. So I leave her alone and talk to my fellow clerk, I go back to check and she says "I"M FINE" really loud. So I again walk away and start talking again, out of no where in she screams and I mean screams: "DOES ANYONE WORK IN THIS PLACE?" omg I wanted to bitch slap her, HELLLOOOO I asked you twice if you needed help and you refused!

Scene Two: Customer comes in looking for the most popular thing we sell: UGGS! Everyone wants Uggs aka we don't have many. She wanted a size 10 aka the most popular men's size, and I had to give her the bad news. And she says "I can't FUCKING believe YOU, I came all the way here to get a pair of UGGS and you don't have them! YOU NEVER HAVE WHAT I WANT AND I COME HERE ALL THE TIME! Why the fuck do you call this a shoe store and NEVER have what I want?" Ok a couple things wrong with her statement, first if you wanted Uggs for Christmas you should have gotten them sooner because they are a HOT item this season, second DONT GET LOUD OR SWEAR AT ME, I DON'T ORDER THE INVENTORY, third if we never have what you want why do you keep coming back? UGHHHHH haha no pun intended

Scene Three: It is super busy, each clerk is with at LEAST 4 customers at a time. A women is sitting in a chair on the sales floor. Then I hear "CAN I GET SOME HELP HERE, I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE FOR AN HOUR!" Well first of all when you need help why don't you go find someone that can help you, we can't read minds. Second if we were even suppose to guess you needed help you shouldn't sit and look like your waiting for someone you came with.

There are sooo many stories from the last three days its not funny. So note to last minute Christmas shoppers PLEASE be nice to the sales people because we are doing ALL we can and try our hardest. We can't control the inventory or anything else! So if you want something soo bad that if you don't have it for Christmas it with ruin it, BUY IT EARLY! NOT TWO DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS
