FASHION TIME: What does 2010 bring to the fashion world?

Ok so after MUCH thought and pushing from my friends and family, I have decided to take their advice and turn my everyday blog into a fashion blog. I am always helping my friends shop and find new trendy clothes so why not help everyone? Fashion through a college guys eyes! The fashion world is full of women but move on over I am making my way through!

So to start my new blog I am going to go over some new 2010 trends and what you guys should be looking for in the fashion world!

So its STILL winter or it is here in New Hampshire so let me show you some new fun winter items that can also be taken over to spring!!!!

For my girls:

First:

We have the wonderful riding boot! This is a new trend that is HUGE in the fashion world, its inspired from the idea of an actual riding boot but more fashionable. These can be your Ugg alternatives, I know I know I love mine too but sometimes we have to switch it up. Plus I want to SCREAM every time I see my fellow friends dawning them in the SNOW! The boots pictured are from one of my personal faves for my girls: Forever 21 and are $32.80. I think we can foot that bill for a nice Ugg alterative, that you can sport A LOT! Plus these specific boots are FAB because they have a lot of exposed zippers which is a huge trend in the fashion world!

Second:

LACE, LACE, LACE!!!! Lace is going to be HUGE in 2010 and the forever 21/urban outfitters and many more have already tipped their hats in that direction! This shirt is a perfect example on how retailers are bringing lace into the everyday world, I mean we can’t all dress in Dior like Marion Cotillard. This top is from Urban Outfitters and is $38.00 which is a little pricey for a shirt but it’s a 2010 staple!

Third:

A fitted blazer, and when I tell my girl friends this some are a little skeptical BUT trust it’s a must have staple. But the catch is it must be fitted otherwise it will not look good! This blazer is from Urban Outfitters and is $78.00 which is pretty expensive but I have seen them at my local TJ’s and Marshalls. This is a nice must have in your closet!

One last trend: ONE SHOULDER!!!! If you have been watching the red carpet as much as I have than you will see what I am talking about, every designer from Dior to Marchesa to Bottega Veneta is sending out the one shoulder look.

Now for the guys:

First:

CHUKKA’s or Desert boots are very big right now in men’s fashion. They are a suede almost boot style shoe that is very fashionable. They are suede so DON’T wear them in the snow/rain but all other days these are perfect! The pictured chukka’s are from Hunter for $180.00 WOW I KNOW but if you’re on a budget (like I am) you can get them at AE for $40 they are a really great buy!

Second:

A double breasted sweater! These are all the rage right now in men’s fashion, because they class your average sweater up! I personally love them and own three in different styles, the one pictured is from Urban Outfitters for $54.00 which is good for a sweater and its going to join my collection soon!

Third:

Last is the very popular flannel but not just any flannel but the buffalo check is HUGE! This season the flannel and plaid has come back into the chic’s closet. It use to be what old men and loggers would wear but it has made a come back into the fashion world. This flannel is from my fave sister store to Forever 21: Heritage 1981and its priced at $24.90 which is pretty reasonable!

So there you have it: some new fashion ideas for the 2010 winter. I hope you all enjoy and get some ideas from this, I am very excited about this new blog adventure!!!

Tonight George Clooney and MTV put on a HUGE fundraiser for the people of Haiti. I had the chance to donate what I could and got to talk to the one and only Emily Blunt! Golden Globe Fashions

So this past weekend the Golden Globes took place in rainy California. I was sooooo excited to see the fashions that everyone whore and I was AMAZED! New style trends: One over the shoulder, glitter/metallic GLAM, ruffles, lace, and corsets/bodices.

Now its time for the top five best dressed and the five worst dressed.

Lets start with the good news:

#5- Marion Cotillard: She wore a stunning Emerald Green dressed designed by Christian Dior. I thought she looked AMAZ but some others like the crew of the Fashion Police. BUT I DISAGREE!!!! Marion def picked a great dress.

#4- Emily Blunt: Emily chose a beautiful blush colored dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana! I loved loved loved this dress, everything was done great. She wore it soooo well, it looked great with her skin color. BUT she really needed to do something with her hair sorry!!! Def an up-do next Emily.

#3- Sofia Vergara: OMGGGGGG this dress was so so amaz. It was designed by Carolina Herrera, aka an artist! This dress had everything all rolled up into one: great color, peep color, simple elegance, but then bam a avant garde bow on the side. LOVED IT!

#2- Penelope Cruz: ABSOLUTE ELEGANCE! AMAZ she was wearing Giorgio Armani Prive aka greatness! Her dress was black which pops on the red carpet and her tan from being on the beach with her boy. Everything about her ensemble was amazing thats why she is my #2!

#1- KATE HUDSON: WOW I was absolutely SPEECHLESS when I saw her amazing dress. She wore Marchesa who OBVI knows how to make an amaz dress!! That gown was stunning and the best thing LIFE had to offer the Golden Globes this year! It was white which looks amaz on the red carpet, then had a great bodice that was an avant garde bodice ON CRACK! Overall a 10 and she just looked so so so great! BEST OF THE NIGHT!

NOW..... for the 5 WORST dressed!

#5- Christina Hendricks: UGHHH noooo please. Now I LOVE Christian Siriano and the dress was kinda cute BUT it was NOT for her AT ALL. First off the color of the dress TOTES washed her out. Second her boobs were SOOO big and DID NOT fit in that dress! If the dress was a diff color and it fit better in the boob area it would have been better but NOPE GROSS.

#4- Tina Fey: Now people are going too hard on Tina. She normally wears simple boring black gowns but this time she took a chance. GOOD FOR HER but Zac Posen really made some mistakes! First the fabric looked like it came off a lazyboy ewwww but the dress was different and cute. BUT not for the golden globes sorry but it was PRETTY gross. Sorry Zac!

#3- Patricia Arquette: SERI soooo gross looked like she was wear a snake skin weird gown. I am so speechless! So I cant say more.....

#2- Drew Barrymore: OK ewwwww COLOR sooo sooo gross, skin tone! Then it looked like it was bedazzled!!! NO then there were cancer growths on her side LIKE EWWWWW so gross wanted to VOM! Cant believe Atelier Versace designed that! AHHH

#1- Chloe Sevigny: Ok I cant even begin to talk about this ONE SERIIIII THE WORST EVER! Plus she thought she was the hottest girl there, SORRY NOPE! I have no idea was Valentino was thinking! She is a gross bitch everything was WRONG about this dress!

There you have it the 5 best and worst dressed! LOVES IT!
